The second day of Timișoara’s celebrations brought over 40,000 participants to the city, who took part in concerts, performances, sports activities, art installations, exhibitions, and events held in Civic Park, I.C. Brătianu Park and Boulevard, the Uszoda area, and at over 30 locations throughout the city. The main stage on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard offered one of the most spectacular evenings of this year’s festival. The program began with concerts by Dora Gaitanovici, Satoshi, and Irina Rimes, each bringing a distinct musical style to the stage and establishing an authentic connection with the audience.
The highlight of the evening was the concert by the Irish band The Script, making their debut in Timișoara. In front of a packed boulevard, the band put on an electrifying show, and one of the most moving moments came when lead singer Danny O’Donoghue stepped off the stage and continued singing from the middle of the crowd, turning I.C. Brătianu Boulevard into a single voice.
The concert ended with a surprise for the audience: Irina Rimes returned to the stage for a duet with The Script, a unique moment that brought to a close one of the most anticipated evenings of Timișoara City Celebration and was enthusiastically received by the thousands of spectators in attendance.
On Saturday evening, Victoriei Square became the stage for the aerial acrobatics show *Meraviglia*, which premiered in Timișoara. Featuring aerial acrobats, water effects, lights, fire, and music, the production brought back to the city center the excitement and grandeur of the major shows that marked Timișoara’s cultural program in 2023, bringing together thousands of spectators for a spectacular experience.
Throughout the day, the city came alive with dozens of events organized in all neighborhoods and partner venues. The public enjoyed concerts, art installations, performances, guided tours, children’s activities, sports competitions, and experiences dedicated to local creative communities, once again highlighting the diverse nature of the Timișoara City Celebration program.
Timișoara City Celebration continues today with a new series of concerts and events. On the main stage on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard, the public is invited, starting at 7:30 p.m., to a concert featuring the Timișul Ensemble and guests — Monica Anghel, Nico, Daniel Iordăchioaie, Andreea Voica, Alexandru Brădățan, Aurora, and Săndel Mihai—followed at 9:30 p.m. by a concert by Marija Šerifović, who is making her debut on the Timișoara Day stage, and starting at 11:15 p.m., in Victoriei Square, the audience can enjoy a new performance of the acrobatic show “Meraviglia. Dancing Fountains, Flames, and Aerial Acrobatics”. At the same time, the program continues in Civic Park, I.C. Brătianu Park, the Uszoda Area, and at over 30 locations throughout the city, featuring concerts, performances, sports activities, and cultural events for the entire community.
The “Timișoara City Celebration” event is funded by the Timișoara City Hall and coordinated and co-organized by the Project Center and the House of Culture.
