Robert Șerban is a writer, journalist, and television personality — a great lover of his city, Timișoara, and a keen connoisseur of its stories. As part of the Literary Map of Timișoara project, Robert Șerban invites us on a literary tour through the lesser-told — but no less delicious — stories of Timișoara's writers. The tour will be followed by an informal conversation in the garden of Brumar Publishing House, at Casa Franyo.
"The stories and adventures of writers are often more spectacular and more intense than the things they actually wrote. A stroll through Timișoara, stopping at places where people who made literature lived or passed through — literary secrets declassified, memories coming to life right there on the spot — sounds like something out of a story. And it will be exactly that, on August 3, the day Miss Timișoara celebrates her birthday." — Robert Șerban
Registration for the literary tour opens on July 20 through a form available on the Harta Literară social media pages and on the website www.hartaliterara.ro. Participation is free, and the number of places is limited.
The Literary Map of Timișoara project is funded by the City of Timișoara through the Center for Projects.
Tech and Tonic is an NGO founded in 2023, dedicated to exploring the social impact of new technologies and their creative use in the social and cultural fields. The association develops projects at the intersection of technology, culture, society, and migration, with the aim of supporting education, social cohesion, civic participation, and equitable access to information. The Literary Map is a national project that grows from one city to the next, mapping the places that carry a story in Romania's literature — and now it opens its page dedicated to Timișoara. Through the module for the city on the Bega, the association promotes Timișoara through the lens of literature, bringing reading and creative work closer to the city and its people, with the help of interactive digital tools.
