We will organize a pop-up fair-type cultural intervention in the Indecis Artist-Run space, in the form of a small fair of independent publications and illustration. The activity will bring together a small number of participants (artists, illustrators and independent publishers), selected from the Sit+Read network and from previous editions, and will include the presentation and sale of zines, artist books and independent publications. The format proposes a direct meeting between the public and the local independent publishing scene, in an informal and accessible setting, specific to artist-run practices. The event functions as a local activation of the project and as a continuation of the dialogue with the public developed in previous editions.
The La Figurat Association is an independent cultural organization based in Timișoara, with over 10 years of experience in initiating and developing projects dedicated to electronic music, visual culture, and interdisciplinary practices. Through its work, the association contributes to diversifying the local cultural scene and developing a supportive environment for emerging artists, facilitating encounters between different creative communities and attracting a young and active audience.
Notable projects include:
- The SABOTAGE Festival (2013–2023)—an interdisciplinary event that combined electronic and experimental music with multimedia installations, workshops, and artistic interventions.
- Launmomentdat in the Park (2016–present) – a free, community-based festival that integrates music, visual art, screenings, and participatory activities.
- Harababura Fair (2019–present) – a fair dedicated to local creative production, facilitating direct dialogue between artists and the public.
- Sit+Read Artbook Fair (2017–present) – a fair dedicated to independent publications, bringing together artists, designers, and publishers from Romania and the international scene, alongside a program of exhibitions, presentations, workshops, and educational activities.
Through these initiatives, the La Figurat Association supports the development of an independent cultural scene connected to national and international networks, promoting collaboration, artistic mobility, and public access to contemporary forms of artistic expression.
