In Jecza Foundation Park, the Old Dixieland Band will perform (a jazz group of six musicians: Dorin Cuibariu – clarinet, Gabriel Bokor – trumpet, Emanuel Saracuti – trombone, Florin Lupulescu – bass, Sorin Petrescu – piano, Doru Roman – drums), enlivening Timișoara Day in the neighborhood. The event is conceived as an invitation to direct public participation—dancing, socializing—highlighted by the involvement of the community surrounding the sculpture park.
The JECZA Foundation, established in 2000 by sculptor Peter Jecza—who has extensive experience in managing cultural projects—is an active presence on the national cultural scene. In 2023, the Foundation played a key role in Timișoara’s year as European Capital of Culture.
In recent years, the foundation has focused on transforming the sculpture park it created into a platform that brings together the neighborhood community—an “open stage” for all forms of art, regardless of genre, as well as for anyone who wishes to participate.
