Timișoara is preparing for a new edition of the event that transforms the city into a grand celebration of community, culture, and urban experiences. From July 31 to August 3, Timișoara City Celebration invites the public to discover the city through music, heritage, gastronomy, communities, art, and urban experiences that will enliven I.C. Brătianu Park and Boulevard, Civic Park, and over 30 other locations throughout Timișoara. The theme of this year’s edition is “Diversity,” one of the values that define Timișoara’s identity and the way the city is experienced by its residents and visitors. Communities, cultures, generations, and different forms of artistic expression have always contributed to Timișoara’s multicultural identity.

“Last year’s concept, when we organized City Celebration—one of the flagship legacy events of the European Capital of Culture year—along with Timișoara Day, was a success. That’s why we’re continuing it this year as well. There will be four days during which the entire city will be celebrating and welcoming Romanian and international visitors, just as in previous editions. We’ve already begun promoting this summer’s events, both nationally and in neighboring countries, because we want more and more people to discover Timișoara’s energy and cultural offerings.”

The key message of the 2026 edition of the “Timișoara City Celebration” event— “One City. A Thousand Ways to Experience It. Diversity,” reflects the variety of experiences the program will offer and invites each participant to discover their own way of exploring and celebrating Timișoara. Admission to all of the more than 100 events in the 2026 program will be free.

The 2025 edition reaffirmed the event’s status as one of Romania’s most important urban celebrations. In 2025, more than 84,600 participants took part in the 197 cultural events held throughout the city, and more than 65,000 spectators enjoyed the concerts and events at the main venue. The atmosphere created by international artists MIKA and James Bay, as well as participants from several European countries and Romania, confirmed the event’s growing appeal from one edition to the next.
