The installation "Symbiotic Collapse", by artist Larisa Tofan, invites you to take a closer look at the fragile relationship between man, nature and the planet that hosts us. With glaciers disappearing, temperatures rising alarmingly and ecosystems losing their balance, this work becomes a powerful visual signal - an art form of collective responsibility and awakening.
The central image, a weakened and isolated polar bear, greets you as a symbol of a symbiotic collapse: between nature and humanity, between our present and our uncertain future. It's a call to awareness, but also a plea for understanding that all life forms are interconnected - and destabilizing one affects all.
"Symbiotic Collapse is not just a sculpture. It is an open question, expressed in matter and form: what role do we play in the growing imbalance? And more importantly, how can we contribute to real change?
About the artist:
Larisa Tofan is originally from Bacău and graduated from the National University of Arts in Bucharest. Over the years she has explored various artistic mediums - from graphics and painting to photography, performance and sculpture, the latter remaining the center of her work. Her works have been presented in exhibitions in Bucharest, Cluj, Iași, as well as in international venues in Paris and London. "Symbiotic Collapse" marks a stage of artistic maturity, deeply rooted in the ecological urgencies of today's world.
The event will take place in the artist's presence - a good opportunity to understand together how art can become a form of empathy, action and resistance.
