This year, Heritage of Timișoara: Baroque goes beyond heritage research and promotion. You are invited to take an active part in saving a piece of the city's history.
On August 1 and 2, you will work side by side with a master mason and learn the basic principles of 18th century masonry. It all happens in an applied workshop, where you will put this knowledge into practice by working directly on a degraded portion of the former bastion fortification of Timișoara. It's a rare opportunity to help protect a historic structure with your own hands.
The "Heritage of Timișoara" project was initiated by the Prin Banat Association as a cultural approach in the historic neighborhoods of the city. Its aim is to bring the tangible cultural heritage closer, raise awareness of the importance of its preservation and encourage cultural tourism.
In 2025, the project marks ten years since the first ideas that set it in motion. It continues to research, document and protect Timisoara's heritage, and this time, it invites you to discover the city through the lens of the Baroque style - an artistic and architectural movement that has profoundly influenced the city's urban development to the present day.
