Contrasens is an organization founded in Timișoara, in 2015, which promotes art and culture as a fundamental critical space for the development of communities and citizens. We educate and support culture consumers to understand the contemporary cultural phenomenon and to approach the artistic and creative act with confidence, through exhibitions, the publishing of art publications, the organization of workshops, courses, and alternative events for training and education through culture.
Our experience lies in mediation and in non-formal education programs based on art and film, in critical thinking through art and film, and in the curation and production of visual art projects with an explicit political and social dimension. Our organization aims to engage in projects that focus on socially engaged art, on education through art and film, and on new approaches to involving the general public in contemporary art, cinema, and East European literature.
