Cultural intervention ar Timișoara Penitentiary: something abouth life, forgiveness, repentance, maybe philosophy, something about the need for humor and irony, through portraits and caricature. Founded in Timișoara 20 years ago, the Documentor Association has collaborated with partners including the Balkan Documentary Center, IDF Prague, EDN, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), Romanian Television (TVR), One World, the National Film Center (CNC), the Timișoara Center for Projects, the Cantemir Programme, Timiș County Council and local authorities to develop a wide range of initiatives dedicated to documentary filmmaking and cultural development.
Over the years, the association has organized Discovery Campus Timișoara, Eurodoc and EsoDOC Bucharest, launched ARADOCS – Open Documentary Session, contributed to the Cinema Studio Timișoara initiative, and implemented projects such as UNLOCK, Arctic Motion, North by Southwest and Triaj.
As part of the Timișoara 2023 – European Capital of Culture programme, Documentor founded Rod Festival, a travelling platform for cultural interventions in alternative spaces for marginalized communities. The festival was created to restore a vibrant dialogue between the city centre and its peripheries, building bridges through artistic practices between worlds that often exist side by side, yet rarely meet.
