In the Spoken Word performance, poet Alina-Maria Dumitrescu, along with musicians Csaba Santa (bass), Marcelle-David Poaty (keyboards) and Emanuel Kui (drums), will combine elements of poetry, storytelling, theater and music to create a captivating and intriguing experience in a unique art form.

The performance. which is called Let the Sky Go!, will be structured as a manifesto surrounding the idea of man-made climate change and the societal disasters for which the individual is responsible, with an emphasis on the human-pain and collective-awareness dynamics. It includes tones of satire, surrealism and a living room colloquiality.

The theme is climate change dystopia and is meant to capture very expansively the desperate voice of a wound that hurts and doesn't know how to be healed. It's a TV show in which the rage of the powerless citizen, of the girl who is tired of dressing up in fast fashion, of the child frightened of the rain, is shouted. It is a vocal and chaotic game-show, in which I want the audience to see a dual reality, which can be pretty only if we put our backs into it and make a positive impact.

Alina Dumitrescu, 25, from Timișoara, is a poet, performer and translator. She was trained as a poetry performer in 2022, as part of the artistic phenomenon "The Nameless Street," a spoken word project in collaboration with Tongue Fu, to which she returned as an alumni participant in 2024.
