Enjoy the summer, in Timișoara
Passenger, the British artist with over 14 million listeners on Spotify, is coming to Timisoara for the first time and will perform on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, the first concert in the west of the country, at the invitation of the Center for Projects Timișoara, on the stage of the event "City Celebration". Zdob and Zdub, the most popular band from the Republic of Moldova, will complete the evening's program with an electrifying concert in the already established ethno-rock style.
The next International artist, with an audience of more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify, whose latest album has over 330 million streams in the UK alone, and who will also be performing for the first time in Timisoara, will be announced publicly on July 6, 2024.
"City Celebration", part of the legacy of the Timisoara 2023 Programme, is a platform event funded by the Municipality of Timisoara, coordinated and organized by the Center for Projects Timișoara.
This year's edition will take place from August 16-18 and will bring together Timișoara's event creators and producers, in a showcase of the unique community of Timișoara 2023, as well as the huge potential that the city of Timisoara has to host big events. The " City Celebration" offers over 100 cultural, sporting and community events for all ages. In an absolute first for Timisoara events, the main venues will be Civic Park and I. C. Brătianu, two central areas in the heart of the city, with an area of over 15,000 square meters.
After the success of last year's City Celebration we continue this year with an even more ambitious edition, which challenges us to see through the lens of culture, places in Timișoara that until now were not cultural spaces. City Celebration is part of our strategy to transform the city through culture and bring the community together. It is also a demonstration that Timișoara can successfully attract and host cultural events with big names on stage and large audiences.

A multi-award-winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Passenger has gone from street corner gigs to packed stadiums and has over 7.4 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, 3.8 million followers on Facebook and over 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify. 'Let Her Go' reached number one in 19 countries and has over six billion streams globally, making it the second most streamed song of all time. The consistency of his production and authenticity both on and off stage has earned Passenger a global fan base and tours around the world, headlining some of the world's most renowned stages.
The City Celebration is an event that, from the very first edition, we have conceived and imagined as a platform event, unifying all the creative energies in Timișoara and showing everyone the extraordinary strength that cultural, sports, community and civic organizations have when working together. We want each edition to connect the city to the most current trends in European and international music and to offer Timisoara's residents the opportunity to participate in events of international scale in their city, as well as reasons to rediscover and love Timișoara and its unique creative energies.
